1. Community Respect
1.1 All members must treat each other with respect, both on the server and in any third-party communications such as Discord or direct messages. Oppressive behavior, including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, antisemitism, ableism, and harassment, is strictly prohibited.
1.2 Discussions involving inappropriate, offensive, or extremist topics, whether in-character or out-of-character, are not allowed. This includes but is not limited to sexual content, hate speech, or extremist ideologies.
1.3 Members must avoid engaging in oppressive or extremist behaviors in-character that may reflect poorly on their out-of-character intentions.
1.4 Members must not share or disclose another member’s personal information under any circumstances, including doxxing or any similar behavior.
2. Staff Authority
2.1 Decisions made by staff members are final and must be respected.
2.2 Members are not allowed to avoid confrontation or disciplinary actions from staff by logging off or using other avoidance tactics.
2.3 Attempting to get different responses by approaching multiple staff members for the same issue is not allowed. If you believe a staff member has acted unfairly, contact a senior staff member (Admin+) for review.
2.4 Lying to staff members or other members through out-of-character means, including submitting false reports, is strictly prohibited.
3. Community Integrity
3.1 Do not exploit loopholes in the community rules. Intentionally bypassing rules is not allowed.

3.3 All server communications must be conducted in English to ensure clarity for all members and staff.
4. Advertising and External Platforms
4.1 Advertising other servers or communities within Echoes: 1984 or its related platforms is forbidden.
4.2 Members must report any incidents of harassment or threats involving third-party platforms to both the platform in question and the Echoes Team.

5.3 Reports will be handled confidentially, and retaliation against those who report violations is strictly prohibited.
6. Ban Appeals
6.1 Members wishing to appeal bans must follow the official appeal process. Appeals submitted outside the designated process (e.g., via direct messages) will not be considered unless the player is unable to access the forums.
6.2 Staff members are not obligated to provide evidence of a ban publicly. If you believe a decision is incorrect, submit a staff report for review by senior staff (Admin+).
7. Social Media and Server-Related Platforms
7.1 All rules outlined in this Code of Conduct apply to Echoes: 1984’s social media and associated platforms. Violations may result in in-game penalties or blacklisting from the platforms.
7.2 Media uploaded to Echoes-related platforms must be appropriate and free from NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content, offensive material, or gore.
7.3 All messages posted on server-related platforms must adhere to these rules and respect both in-character and out-of-character boundaries.
‘Server Rules’

Note: Members of the Echoes: 1984 community, whether through participation on the Minecraft server, or Discord, or any other platform, must abide by the following ruleset. Failure to do so will result in punishment depending on the rule broken.
1. General Behavior and Punishments
1.1 Do not bypass or evade punishments or bans by using alternate accounts or VPNs.
1.2 Alternate accounts should not be used to gain advantages in gameplay (e.g. you cannot roleplay with yourself to acquire information your character wouldn’t otherwise know).
1.3 Any bans may be appealed through the official appealing system unless unappealable.
1.4 Unappealable bans are final and cannot be contested.
2. Roleplay Expectations
2.1 Failing to roleplay realistically, also known as “FailRP,” is strictly prohibited.
2.2 Avoid “powergaming,” where you force actions upon others that cannot be reasonably countered.
2.3 Do not engage in “godmodding,” which involves controlling other characters' actions or making your character invincible.
3. Modifications and Exploits
3.1 Using clients, mods, exploits, or hacks to gain an unfair advantage is not allowed.
3.2 Third-party tools (e.g., mods) that boost attributes or prevent you from being marked as “AFK” are forbidden.
3.3 Any modification or resource pack used is done so at your own risk.
3.4 Any changes or mods should comply with the server’s rules and not provide unfair advantages.
4. In-Game Conduct and Property
4.1 Selling in-game items through out-of-character means is prohibited.
4.2 Your character's skin should be appropriate and comply with the server's Player Conduct rules.
4.3 Copying another player’s skin is not allowed. Minor details (e.g., similar outfits or colors) are acceptable, but the majority of the skin must not be copied.
4.4 All commands must be used strictly for their intended in-game purposes.
4.5 You cannot use OOC (out-of-character) commands for roleplaying purposes or use IC (in-character) commands for OOC matters.
5. Property and Buildings
5.1 All properties, including houses, apartments, and RVs, must remain realistic and appropriate for the server’s roleplay.
5.2 Properties should not include content that violates the Player Conduct rules.
5.3 You are not allowed to have shops, CCTV, or security equipment in your property.
5.4 Administrators may only disown a property if the owner has been inactive for 30 days.
5.5 You cannot block property signs to prevent others from purchasing properties.
5.6 Players cannot own more than one property across all accounts (including alternate accounts).
5.7 Chests cannot be hidden in unreachable areas (e.g. inside walls or floors).
6. Communication and Roleplay Actions
6.1 Purposely stalling roleplay situations is punishable. If roleplay needs to be paused for an OOC (out-of-character) matter, only staff members can pause the roleplay.
6.2 Players may only hear past walls if someone on the other side is shouting.
7. Bug Reporting and Discord Ownership
7.1 If you encounter a bug or glitch, it’s your responsibility to report it through the Bug Reports forum, or via a ticket on Discord. Exploiting bugs can result in severe consequences.
7.2 Any & all Discords relating to Echoes: 1984 are to come under ownership of the Echoes: 1984 Management Team.
‘Character Rules’
Last Edited: 07/01/25
Note: Members of the Echoes: 1984 community, whether through participation on the Minecraft server, or Discord, or any other platform, must abide by the following ruleset. Failure to do so will result in punishment depending on the rule broken.
1. Character Creation and Appearance
1.1 Characters must be human with basic features: two eyes, one nose, one mouth, two ears, and no extra limbs (unless approved).
1.2 Characters must be between 4'0" (122 cm) and 6'5" (195 cm) tall (unless approved).
1.3 Characters must have a realistic skin tone that matches human races.
1.4 Characters must come from a real country, not a made-up one, and cannot be from another planet.
1.5 If your character has unusual features (non-typical/human traits), it will be treated as a costume or cosplay during roleplay.
1.6 Descriptions must be at least 16 characters long.
1.7 You cannot use emojis or symbols in character descriptions.
2. Naming Rules
2.1 Your character must have a first and last name (e.g., John Appleseed). Nicknames or partial names are not allowed.
2.2 Your character’s name should not be the same as a famous real or fictional person, unless it's a common or less-known name.
2.3 The character's name must be appropriate and follow the server’s code of conduct.
2.4 Characters can only belong to two families, and the full family name must be used in their RP name.
2.5 Players must strive to keep in touch with the server's lore, and research commonly used names/people from the time (American 80s).
3. Age Rules
3.1 Your character’s in-game age must match their roleplay age.
3.2 The legal age of adulthood on the server is 18, based on American laws.
3.3 Characters under the age of 21 cannot have relationships with someone more than 3 years older than them.
3.4 The server uses the age of consent as 18, regardless of real-world laws.
3.5 Characters under the age of 20 cannot adopt children or have their own children.
4. Character Purpose and Development
4.1 Don’t create “throwaway” characters, which are characters made without a real purpose or plans for roleplay.
4.2 Every character must have a unique skin. You cannot reuse a skin from another character.
4.3 Depending on your character’s age and role, different rules apply to how many times you can roll in combat or for initiative. Make sure to check the guidelines for your character.
‘Roleplay Rules’
Last Edited: 07/01/25
Note: Members of the Echoes: 1984 community, whether through participation on the Minecraft server, or Discord, or any other platform, must abide by the following ruleset. Failure to do so will result in punishment depending on the rule broken.
1. Metagaming & Communication
1.1 Do not metagame. This is the act of using out-of-character information to your in-character advantage, regardless of your character not knowing said details. Questions such as “Can you meet me at spawn?” are not deemed as metagaming.
1.2 You cannot use In-Character items to communicate Out-Of-Character. This includes signs, the radio, or a book and quill.
1.3 Do not use emoticons in-character.
1.4 If your character is recording something, video or audio, the camera must remain out at all times. You must do an action that starts the recording and take screenshots throughout the duration of the recording.
1.5 All screenshots and recordings are deemed Out-Of-Character, for lore reasons, unless deemed otherwise by a staff member.
2. Roleplay Content & Behavior
2.1 You cannot perform erotic roleplay. Actions that are NSFW or describe inherently erotic actions are against the rules and can result in severe punishment.
2.2 Erotic roleplay includes “erotic literature,” meaning you cannot enter anything that details something NSFW on signs, books or any type interface.
2.3 Do not reference/mention/act on any sensitive content through your character; this includes necrophilia, pedophilia, bestiality, cannibalism, sexual assault/domestic violence/harassment/, or extensive gore (heavily detailed violence that is discomforting).
2.4 In relation to sensitive content, do not detail any roleplay related to overdosing, suicide, or self-harm.
2.5 When roleplaying any kind of disorder or handicap, players must do so appropriately. Anything deemed inappropriate or offensive will result in punishment.
3. Avoiding Roleplay & FailRP
3.1 You may not avoid roleplay interactions, commonly referred to as AvoidRP on the server (also FailRP). Logging off to avoid an arrest, or refusing to log on if another person has permissions on your character, or using a different character to avoid permissions are all examples of avoiding roleplay.
3.2 If someone gains major permissions on your character, you must stay online for at least one OOC hour. The only exception to this is consented kill permissions, in which the person consenting can decide the length of the permissions.
3.3 Arrests, detaining, and manhunt are all examples of interactions you cannot log off during.
3.4 You cannot use your own rule-breaking as a reason to void a situation you are involved in.
4. FearRP & Roleplay Realism
4.1 You must roleplay realistically to the potential consequences or interactions your characters will have. This is commonly referred to as FearRP on the server (also FailRP). Your character must be fearful of certain detrimental outcomes in situations.
4.2 Examples of FearRP you may see related to crime are being fearful of weapons (including police officers’ tasers, jail time), roleplaying realistically in the face of several gang members (armed or not armed), and obeying the Sheriff's Department when they give directions, and behaving in government buildings.
4.3 FearRP is a loose concept and may not apply to all roleplay situations, meaning it is generally dependent on the people roleplaying to do so realistically. Staff members are free to make any decisions related to FearRP as long as they are compliant with the rules above and are realistic.
5. Voiding & Fading to Black (F2B)
5.1 Voiding can only be done if a rule is broken. Staff members have the ability to void a situation regardless of a majority vote.
5.2 In reference to a majority vote, if the majority of a group votes to void a situation for a valid reason such as an instance of staff-confirmed rule breaking or other OOC reasons, then the situation is voided.
5.3 Regardless of if an action or situation is voided, it may still be eligible for punishment (either OOC or IC).
5.4 You may fade to black (F2B) certain actions.
‘Permissions’

1. General Permissions Rules
1.1 To act on any permissions, a valid in-character motive must be present.
1.2 Common sense: Although “crazed” behavior is allowed, a character being “insane” is not a valid reason to act on gained permissions above minor assault permissions.
1.3 Punishment: Fear of getting caught should also be present; your character should not attempt to kill someone or act on permission if they are likely to be caught.
1.4 Your character will obtain any permissions that their fellow family/gang members have obtained if they witnessed the situation.
1.5 You cannot pass consented kill permissions to other players without the consent of the original player unless a family/gang member witnessed the act that got you KPS.
1.6 You cannot gain permissions on EMS (health) workers for doing their job.
2. Minor Assault Permissions
2.1 Extent of Assault: The full extent of minor assault is knocking someone out. Only weapons capable of knocking out may be used.
2.2 Valid In-Character Motives for Minor Assault:
2.2.i Threats: If threatened with claims of harm to you or your family/gang.
2.2.ii Physical Attack: Retaliation against someone who physically attacks your character.
2.2.iii Scamming/Theft: If someone attempts to scam/mug you for money or items.
2.2.iv Calling the Police: If someone reports your character to the police resulting in a fine.
2.2.v Trespassing: If an unwanted guest refuses to leave your property after being asked.
3. Major Assault Permissions
3.1 Extent of Assault: Allows breaking one bone per permission instance. Grants kidnapping permissions.
3.2 Unconsciousness: If knocked out by fists, you may carry out major assault permissions on those responsible.
3.3 Broken Bones: If your character’s bone is fractured during combat, you may majorly assault the individuals responsible.
3.4 Valid In-Character Motives for Major Assault:
3.4.i Calling the Police: If someone’s report results in your arrest (excluding EMS).
3.4.ii Mugging Weapons: If someone mugs your weapon. (Exception: If they mug back a weapon previously taken from them).
3.4.iii Trapping: If confined in a structure against your will, you must attempt escape before gaining permissions.
3.4.iv Hitman: If someone sets a hit on you or a group attacks you, you may act on permissions against the attackers and the hit requester.
3.4.v Major Assault: Retaliation for major assault inflicted on your character.
3.4.vi Taser Use: If a police officer Tasers your character.
4. Kill Permissions
4.1 Consent Required: Kill permissions can only be acted upon with OOC consent or proper in-character motive.
4.2 Valid In-Character Motives for Kill Permissions:
4.3.i Weaponry: If a deadly weapon is used physically against your character.
4.3.ii Gang Leave: If a gang member leaves a verified gang, the gang leader may obtain permissions, but leaving alone isn’t sufficient motive.
4.3.iii Black Market: Reselling black market exclusive items or stealing a shipment crate results in permissions for witnessing dealers.
4.3.iv Lifetime Arrest: If arrested for life without bail, you obtain permissions on the officer.
5. Mugging and Scamming Permissions
5.1 Mugging Limits: Maximum $2,000 in cash and goods. Police items, except for the baton, are not muggable. The baton does not have any stats..
5.2 Scamming: Allowed in-character. If scammed, you may contact police or mug the scammer.
5.3 Weapon Mugging: Allowed if the weapon is used against you, subject to weapon profile restrictions.
5.4 Mask Mugging: Combatants may mug masks if the weapon profile permits.
6. Combat Situations
6.1 Knocking Out: Upon knocking out opposition, one group member may mug up to $1,000 from the unconscious body.
6.2 Kidnapping: Requires major assault permissions or kill permissions.
6.2.i Escape Attempt: At least one escape attempt must be made before retaliating against kidnappers.

1.3 Allow police officers to confiscate items or raid properties as per their IC authority and the rules governing warrants.
1.4 Avoid deliberately provoking police officers by engaging in reckless or disruptive actions solely to attract their attention.

1.6 Do not attempt to break out of jail or custody unless discussed with staff and agreed upon.
1.7 Avoid using alternate characters to bypass police investigations or manhunts.
1.8 Allow the police to conduct searches, confiscate items, and interrogate your character as per the established rules. Any disagreements with police actions should be raised with staff, evidence included.
1.9 If your character is arrested, behave as someone in custody would. This includes following the instructions of police officers and refraining from disruptive or trollish behavior.
1.10 Do not perform actions that are unrealistic or force outcomes on other characters (e.g., escaping handcuffs without proper tools or IC justification).
1.11 A tased suspect is not able to act for 2 turns.
1.12 Blackout and masks may only be worn when actively committing crimes.
1.13 Fear RP 1 officer unless there's 2 criminals excluding yourself backing you up. This rule stacks with each officer. This rule doesn't apply if you have a class 2 or higher weapon.
